Had a fantastic time recording, mixing, and mastering this EP from Seattle psych rock band Peyote Ugly. We tracked drums at Earwig in Wallingford (RIP to that wonderful room, but stoked to see Don’s new place take shape) then the band took that to their home studio and finished off tracking. We mixed everything together over a few days up at my home studio in Bellingham (these are really dense multi-layered tracks and it was great to have input from the band) and then I mastered the EP. Overall, it was a great experience and I’m really proud of how this one turned out; these are some of the most complicated mixes I’ve worked on.
Peyote Ugly - Out of Sight
Did some tracking, mixed and mastered this sing for Seattle psych rockers, Peyote Ugly. Had a great time track drums with the band at Earwig’s old location in Wallingford Seattle. Probably the final thing I got to track their before Don moved down south. Check out the amazing music video below and stream it on your favorite (not Spotify) streaming service!
Great Grandpa - Patience, Moonbeam
Had the pleasure of doing some drum tech work on this album by Seattle indie-rock band Great Grandpa. The band had me come in and get drum tones dialed in for the majority of the songs on this record, which we tracked at Studio X in Seattle, WA. They rented a bunch of drum gear from me, and my beautiful 1950s Slingerland 24” kick drum can be heard across most of this album. I had such a blast helping out and setting up a buffet of different snares. I’m very proud of how the drums turned out here and kudos to Dylan on the mix, album sounds incredible.
